Exhibitors

THANK YOU for your interest in Exploration Day!
We absolutely could not do this without you.

Exhibitors
As an exhibitor, you will create an exhibit that provides a hands-on science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) experience for children of all ages.  You will be responsible for interacting with children, answering their questions, and generally encouraging interest in STEM fields.

The goal of Exploration Day is to excite and inspire children to pursue STEM opportunities.  This is easy to achieve with rockets and other flashy experiments, but please also present the science behind it.

Historically exhibitors have been responsible for providing the materials and supplies they will need throughout the day. The event will
last for 5 hours and we expect about 2,000 attendees. If you think your group may have trouble providing materials for the entire event, please contact the Exploration Day staff.

Vendors
This year, Exploration Day will include vendors selling educational toys, books, and other products. The fee is $125 for one 6 foot table and 2 chairs for the duration of the event. Additional tables can be added for $20. If you are interested in being included as a vendor, please fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFF2MVZkX0pYMVZkV3J5RFNJcFk1Umc6MQ#gid=0

2012 vendors include:

Green Irene Consultant, www.greenirene.com/1427. She will accept cash and carry for items purchased that day, or cash or credit cards for items ordered at the event.

Discovery Toys: Accepts cash, check, and credit cards. www.discoverytoyslink.com/esuite/home/mytoystore

Usborne Books: Accepts cash, checks, VISA/Debit, MC, Discover for cash and carry orders. www.ubah.com/C0560

Volunteers
You also have the option of volunteering.  Rather than running a booth, you are responsible for helping with setup and making sure the day runs smoothly.  In the morning you will help with setup which could include setting up directional signs around the Park Forest Middle School so attendees know where to go, registering exhibitors, helping the exhibitors setup their booths, posting balloons around the building, etc.  Throughout the day you may be sitting at a welcome desk to answer questions from the attendees, be a floater who helps the exhibitors if they need something, or help specific exhibits that require a little more assistance like the hovercraft which provides rides to children.  Volunteers work in rotating shifts, so you won't be stuck doing one thing all day.
